It had been a long and agonizing 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season for Justin Allgaier. Not because he hadn’t been competitive, but because every time he was in position to score a win, something strange happened.
Bad luck was not able to intervene in Saturday’s Drydene 200 at Dover International Speedway, as Allgaier took a dominating win.
In addition to his 12th-career NASCAR Xfinity Series win, Allgaier also scored his eighth Stage Win of the season in Stage 2.
Austin Cindric, who had won five of the last six races, came home second to Allgaier after scoring a Stage 1 win earlier in the race.
Ross Chastain finished third, and Noah Gragson finished fourth after a spirited battle with Harrison Burton in the closing laps.
Riley Herbst, Jeb Burton, Justin Haley, Michael Annett and Chase Briscoe rounded out the top-10 finishers in the race.
For Briscoe the 10th place finish is super impressive, as he spun in Stage 2 and slammed the nose of his No. 98 machine into the inside wall. After repairs, Briscoe went a lap down. But he was able to get back on the lead lap and scored a solid finish.
