Notes:

– Nemechek and the No. 23 team will utilize chassis no. 216. This chassis was raced this year by John Hunter Nemechek at ISM Raceway (start: 13th/finish: 9th).

– FALCI Adaptive Motorsports (FAM) and its founder Dr. Scott Falci – a renowned Denver-based neurosurgeon and longtime NASCAR crew chief and auto racing executive Joe Garone will showcase cutting-edge technology to maximize the impact of bringing mobility to spinal cord injured and amputee individuals. Dr. Falci’s team constructed and installed the technological components that allow mobility-challenged individuals to drive the car hands-and-foot free by a slight movement of the head and mouth which enables input to the car’s steering, accelerator and braking systems.

– U.S. Paralympians from the National Wheelchair Basketball Association, including Will Waller, Trevon Jenifer and Steve Serio will take laps around Richmond Raceway on Wednesday, April 10beginning at 9 a.m.

Quotes:

“I am really looking forward to going back to Richmond this weekend for my second Xfinity start at the short-track. Last year I had a strong car and led 36 laps before we lost the break pedal. Richmond, I feel like, falls into one of my stronger tracks on the NASCAR circuit and hopefully coming off the top-five finish at Bristol we can follow that up with another strong run. Having FALCI (Adaptive Motorsports) on the car this weekend is great. What Dr. Scott Falci and Joe Garone are doing for the mobility-challenged community is really special and to be able to raise awareness in the NASCAR community for their operation is a great honor.”
