This race, which will serve as part of a Saturday NASCAR double-header race day, will mark the fifth race of the 33-race NASCAR Xfinity Series season.
A maximum of 38 cars are permitted to start races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which means two drivers and teams will fail to qualify for this weekend’s event. The 40 cars on the entry list this weekend is the most of any NASCAR Xfinity Series entry list since the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, which featured 44 entries.
Chandler Smith, who scored the win in the Call811.com Every Dig. Every Time. 200 at Phoenix Raceway — the series’ most recent race — will return this week in the No. 81 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota GR Supra. In his one previous NASCAR Xfinity Series start at COTA, Smith came home with a 12th-place finish.
Among the notable entries for the event is the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports entry, which will have 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson behind the wheel. That entry will carry primary sponsorship from HendrickCars.com.
