Video: Suarez Makes Contact with Larson; Larson Crashes Into Hamlin

Kyle Larson, who has the been the driver to beat in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway is going to have a hard time competing for the win the rest of the way. Larson’s toe has been knocked out after a crash on Lap 220.

As Larson was in the middle of a wild four-wide situation following a Lap 219 restart, Larson received contact from Daniel Suarez on the frontstretch. The contact sent Larson shooting up the track, where plowed into the side of Denny Hamlin’s No. 11 Toyota Camry.

Both Larson and Hamlin hit the wall, and Larson spun backwards across the finish line.

Here is another look at the crash from the incar cameras of Larson and Hamlin:

Larson, who started from the pole, won Stage 2 and had led 80 laps in the race prior to the crash. Hamlin had suffered from a mediocre race, but had just worked his way into contention thanks to a controversial caution call by NASCAR after Daniel Hemric slightly scraped the wall on Lap 182.
