Video: Ricky Stenhouse, Joey Logano Trigger Multi-Car Wreck Late at Daytona

As the intensity continued to rise, it was bound to happen.

For the second time in Sunday’s 67th-annual DAYTONA 500, ‘The Big One’ has struck the NASCAR Cup Series field, as this time it was courtesy of Ricky Stenhosue, Jr. and Joey Logano — who were battling for a position inside the top five.

The accident happened with less than 15 laps to go in the season-opener, when Stenhouse and Logano were fighting for a place in the second line, forcing the field four wide and causing a multi-car accident.

What came after that, was a nine-car pileup including Kyle Busch, who has been trying his entire NASCAR Cup Series career to win ‘The Great American Race’.

Involved in the incident were Ricky Stenhouse, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Austin Dillon, Noah Gragson, Todd Gilliland, Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski, and Cole Custer, amongst potential others.

Both Logano and Kyle Busch have been brought to the garage, and their chances to win the DAYTONA 500 have effectively ended.

This late-race wreck sets the field up for a mad dash to the finish, with what will be less than 10 laps to go when the race gets restarted.
