Noah Gragson walked away from an absolutely brutal hit into the Turn 1 wall after the right front brake rotor exploded on his No. 42 car on lap 198 at Gateway.

UPDATE Thursday, June 8th:

On Thursday, LEGACY MOTOR CLUB announced that Noah Gragson would be sitting out the NASCAR Cup Series Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway after the 24-year-old began experiencing concussion-like symptoms following the crash on Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway.

ORIGINAL STORY Sunday, June 4th

Fortunately, Noah Gragson was able to walk away from an extremely hard impact in Turn 1 on lap 198 of Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

As Gragson came off of Turn 4, the right front brake rotor exploded on his No. 42 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which led to Gragson being unable to slow down as he barreled into Turn 1.

Gragson’s car cranked sideways and plowed hard into the outside wall. Due to the severe nature of the crash, the red flag was deployed for clean up to the track with 42 laps remaining in the event.

Gragson’s rotor explosion marked the third rotor that had exploded in the event, as Carson Hocevar had one detonate on Lap 91, and then Tyler Reddick experienced one on Lap 175.
