There is no doubt in my mind, that Kyle Larson’s experience racing at Daytona and Talladega helped him get – somehow — scoot his way through a scary accident in Thursday Night’s A-Main Qualifier at the 2021 Knoxville Nationals.

The accident – which saw at least five cars flipped over at some point — started when Carson Macedo and Paul McMahan made contact entering turn three, launching both entries up the track and into the path of many of their competitors. Among those involved were Sammy Swindell, Kerry Madsen, and Marcus Dumesny.

However, Larson – piloting the white No. 57 for Paul Silva — was able to snake his way through the accident as cars were sent flipping and spinning directly in his path and in every possible direction. After starting 21st in the A-Main – after having to transfer through the B-Main — Larson had worked his way up to 15th prior to the accident, which happened after only one lap was complete.
