Kevin Harvick is done for the day after crashing off Turn 4, while battling Bubba Wallace for fourth spot early in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas. Screengrab from USA Network broadcast.

Kevin Harvick entered Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway as the 16th seed in the Playoffs, which put him in a position where he needed a win, or at the very least a decent finish in Sunday’s race.

He will get neither, as he crashed hard into the wall on lap 33 while aggressively battling Bubba Wallace for the fourth position early in the race.

Here is video of the incident that ended Harvick’s day early at Kansas Speedway:

Harvick, who saw his car catch fire and burn randomly last weekend at Darlington, now faces what should be an absolute must-win situation at Bristol Motor Speedway next weekend, if he hopes to advance to the Round of 12 in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

The 46-year old snapped a long losing streak earlier this season at Michigan International Speedway, which also secured his place in the 2022 Playoffs. At Richmond, a week later, Harvick cemented himself as a legit championship contender as he scored a second-consecutive win.
