Video: Detached Wheel Ruins the Day for Kyle Busch at Las Vegas

Kyle Busch’s losing streak will extend to 62 races after an unfortunate incident ended his bid to win Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the driver’s hometown track.

Busch, who had rallied back from a pit road speeding penalty in the opening Stage, was running near the top-10 when he suffered a detached wheel on the backstretch during the first Lap of a restart on Lap 113. With the wheel detached, and Busch being caught in the middle of a hornet’s nest, he slapped the outside wall during the situation.

Unfortunately, for Busch, the incident of the detached wheel resulted in a two-lap penalty, but it was a moot point as Busch had to take his No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet to the garage area as the brake lines on his No. 8 machine were sheared off in the incident.
