With the confirmation this summer that Tyler Reddick and Richard Childress Racing will split at the conclusion of next season, many people were concerned that the outside noise would affect the team’s on-track product.

Since beginning the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, the 26-year-old has silenced the concerned parties, with a top-five finish at Darlington, and now by topping the speed charts in both practice and qualifying at Kansas.

Reddick, who enters this weekend 23 points above the cutline to advance to the ‘Round of 12’, put down a blazing lap in the final round of Saturday’s single-car qualifying session, timing in at 29.899 seconds (180.608mph).

The triumph in Saturday’s qualifying session marks the third career pole for Reddick in the NASCAR Cup Series, with his other two pole positions both coming on road courses.

Joey Logano, who continues to be one of the hottest drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series with five top-six finishes in the last six races, will start alongside Reddick, after being four-hundredths of a second slower than the No. 8.

Alex Bowman, Christopher Bell, and Ross Chastain completed the top five in Saturday’s qualifying session, while Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson, Austin Cindric, William Byron, and Chris Buescher completed the top-10.

Austin Dillon (11th), Chase Briscoe (13th), Kevin Harvick (14th), Daniel Suarez (15th), Ryan Blaney (17th), Kyle Busch (20th), Chase Elliott (22nd), and Denny Hamlin (25th) were the eight Playoff drivers that didn’t advance to the second round of qualifying.
