For those who were curious if John Hunter Nemechek would return to the No. 42 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Toyota in 2027, you have your answer. On Tuesday morning, the race team announced a partnership expansion with Rexel USA, which will serve as a multi-race primary sponsor for Nemechek and the No. 42 team next season.

“It’s great to have Rexel back and even bigger on the No. 42 in 2027,” said Nemechek. “That kind of commitment pushes you to go out and perform, and I’m looking forward to representing them on and off the track as this partnership continues to grow.”

In addition to the continued sponsorship of Nemechek, Rexel will become an Official Partner of the LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team and will activate within the team’s premium hospitality program throughout the remainder of the season.

Rexel USA, a distributor of electrical supplies, services, and solutions, is set to make its debut as a primary sponsor on Nemechek’s car later this season at Richmond Raceway and will also be an associate sponsorship partner at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in October.

LEGACY MOTOR CLUB is proud to expand upon the relationship in 2027.

“Rexel has been an incredible partner, and we appreciate their belief in what we’re building here at LEGACY MOTOR CLUB. Their willingness to grow this relationship before our first season together was even complete, speaks for itself,” said Jimmie Johnson, owner of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, in a team press release.

For Rexel, the decision to expand its relationship with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB extended far beyond the company’s colors plastered on the No. 42 Toyota.

“LEGACY’s values and our values align really well,” said Roger Little, CEO, Rexel USA. “This relationship goes beyond a sticker on the side of a car — this is a partnership.”

With Nemechek set to return to LEGACY MOTOR CLUB in 2027, the driver will enter his fourth season in the NASCAR Cup Series driving for the organization.

Through the opening 12 races of the 2026 season, Nemechek has one top-10 finish, and he ranks 28th in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings. Nemechek has recorded both of his career top-five finishes and 13 of his 16 top-10 finishes in his NASCAR Cup Series career with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB.
