According to a new report from Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern, there is increasing chatter that NASCAR could move on from Charlotte Motor Speedway as the site for the yearly All-Star Race. According to the report, tracks being discussed include Nashville (which currently has no race date) and Martinsville Speedway (has two current points paying events per year).

The All-Star Race has been a fixture on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule since it’s inception in 1985, and every edition except the 1986 edition, which was run at Atlanta Motor Speedway, have been held at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

We have heard about potential huge sweeping changes to the schedule for the 2021 season when contracts with current tracks on the schedule are up, and it appears that this would fall right in line with what we’ve been hearing about those things.
