You have to be gutted for Matt DiBenedetto. The 28-year old driver made a bet on himself last year. He walked away from the team he knew and loved — Go Fas Racing — in an effort to try to win races and compete at a high level with Leavine Family Racing.

Thursday, DiBenedetto announced officially that he will be out of the No. 95 ride after just one season.

“I got the devastating news that I will not be able to return to Leavine Family Racing next season,” DiBenedetto said through a statement on Twitter.

DiBenedetto thanked LFR for the opportunity and he vows to battle his heart out for the remainder of the 2019 season.

Leavine Family Racing released a statement on the decision to part ways with DiBenedetto.

“We have chosen to move in another direction for 2020. Matt has been an important part of our team this year, putting together strong runs. He’s a talented young driver & we look forward to closing out this season with him. … We wish him nothing but the best.”

This undoubtedly should open the No. 95 car for Christopher Bell to drive next season.

Now, DiBenedetto is left in a familiar spot, searching for a competitive ride.
