Live Fast Motorsports, which currently fields the No. 78 Chevrolet on a full-time basis in the NASCAR Cup Series, is planning to continue running at NASCAR’s top level in 2024, despite selling its charter to Spire Motorsports.

The organization, which is co-owned by Joe Falk, Matt Tifft, and BJ McLeod, joined the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021, fielding a full-time entry with a charter that was acquired from GoFas Racing.

On Saturday, Spire Motorsports announced the acquisition of the charter from the single-car organization, an entry that will be piloted by defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Zane Smith.

A statement from Live Fast Motorsports shortly after the announcement reads, “Live Fast Motorsports is confirming they have sold their charter to Spire Motorsports. We will address the media in the coming time for further statements.”

“We thank all of our partners, fans, and [Live Fast Motorsports] employees for their following and dedication, and we plan to continue in a part-time schedule in 2024 with an open car.”

Additional announcements regarding the fate of Live Fast Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series beyond the end of this season, will be made by the organization at a later date.
