After a problematic mid-portion of the NASCAR Cup Series season, William Byron and Hendrick Motorsports were able to show strength and consistency in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, scoring career-high sixth-place points finish.

The Charlotte, North Carolina native also had a career season in another respect, coming out of the gate solid to capture two victories in the first eight races of the year, at Atlanta and Martinsville.

Byron’s victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway, which he captured in dominating fashion, marked the second victory for Liberty University in the NASCAR Cup Series, the institution that has sponsored the 24-year-old’s career since the beginning.

In October 2021, Liberty University and Hendrick Motorsports reached a long-term agreement, which would see the school continue its partnership with William Byron for 12 races each year, through 2026.

Earlier this season, the final piece of the puzzle came into place, when it was announced that Hendrick Motorsports would be retaining William Byron for another three seasons in the No. 24, with a contract lasting through 2025.

Byron, currently pursuing his B.S. in Strategic Communications through Liberty University Online Programs, will have Liberty University on board his entry in 11 points-paying NASCAR Cup Series events in 2023, as well as the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro.

The No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro will carry the Liberty University branding in events at Atlanta (March 19), COTA (March 26), Martinsville (April 16), Talladega (April 23), Kansas (May 7), North Wilkesboro (May 21), Charlotte (May 28), Nashville (June 25), Richmond (July 30), Michigan (August 6), Texas (September 24), Homestead (October 22).

Hendrick Motorsports has been the home for William Byron since he graduated to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2018, capturing four victories, 26 top-five, and 62 top-10 results in 180 NASCAR Cup Series starts.

In 2023, Byron will look to make his first appearance in the Championship 4, as he chases an accolade that two of his three teammates have achieved, a championship in the NASCAR Cup Series.
