Longtime industry executive Ty Norris is joining forces with Kaulig Racing, the organization confirmed in a statement on Friday.

Norris will be serving as the organization’s Chief Business Officer, focusing on partnerships and long-term strategy alongside team owner Matt Kaulig and team President Chris Rice.

“Bringing [Ty] Norris and his wealth of knowledge to the executive team is one of several major moves that Kaulig and Rice are making to solidify the trajectory of its NASCAR Cup Series program well into the future,” the statement reads.”

The official announcement comes just three days after a report from Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, which says that Norris was departing Trackhouse Racing, where he’s served as Chief Business Officer since 2021, and looked poised to join Kaulig Racing.

At 59 years old, Norris has nearly three decades of working experience as a NASCAR industry executive, including time with Dale Earnhardt, Inc., Speedway Motorsports, Inc., Michael Waltrip Racing, Spire Sports + Entertainment, Spire Motorsports, and most recently, Trackhouse Racing.

Kaulig Racing currently fields a pair of full-time, chartered entries in the NASCAR Cup Series. AJ Allmendinger was previously announced to be moving into the No. 16 Chevrolet full-time in 2025, while the team’s second ride — currently occupied by Daniel Hemric — has yet to have a driver announced for next season.

The team also has a substantial presence in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and will field three full-time entries in the second-tier series in 2025. Those vehicles will be driven by Daniel Dye (No. 10), Josh Williams (No. 11), and Christian Eckes (No. 16).

Justin Marks, owner of Trackhouse Racing, provided the following statement to TobyChristie.com: “We greatly appreciate the role Ty Norris has played in the creation and growth of Trackhouse Racing.  We have a bright and exciting future thanks to his contributions. We wish our friend the best of luck.”
