Tyler Reddick had been so close, so many times to winning in the NASCAR Cup Series over the last month. On Monday at Michigan International Speedway, the driver of the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota finally snagged his elusive second win of the 2024 season. Reddick held off William Byron for the race win in a double-overtime finish by 0.168 sec.

Following the win, Reddick’s race-winning No. 45 McDonald’s 23XI Racing Toyota Camry XSE underwent post-race inspection at the hands of NASCAR Cup Series officials, where the race car was given a passing grade.

As a result, NASCAR officially declared Reddick and his race team the official winners of the race.

This is Reddick’s seventh-career NASCAR Cup Series win, and the win moves him to the top of the NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season championship standings by 10 points over Chase Elliott. There are two races remaining until the Playoffs begin.

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings are now considered official from Monday’s race. The No. 17 (Chris Buescher), 48 (Alex Bowman), 54 (Ty Gibbs), and 99 (Daniel Suarez) cars will all be taken to the R&D center by NASCAR for further inspection. If there are any penalties from the R&D inspection, they will be announced later this week.

NASCAR will also take Corey LaJoie’s No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet back to R&D following the car’s flip on Lap 136.

Ty Gibbs finished third behind Reddick and Byron, and he was followed by Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski inside the top-five.
