Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has a knack for being in the right place at the right time on superspeedway tracks, and on Sunday the driver of the No. 47 JTG Daugherty Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 took home his fourth career NASCAR Cup Series win, all of which have come at either Daytona or Talladega.
The latest one came by the slimmest of margins as Stenhouse beat Brad Keselowski by 0.006 seconds and William Byron by 0.027 seconds in a three-wide photo finish.
Following the race, NASCAR inspected Stenhouse’s race-winning No. 47 Chevrolet Camaro, where the car was given a passing grade. As a result, NASCAR officially declared Stenhouse and his team the official winners of the YellaWood 500.
No issues were detected in post-race inspection, and no cars will make the trip back to the NASCAR R&D Center, which means all results and standings from Sunday’s race are now officially finalized.
