Kyle Larson scored his third win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season on Sunday in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. The win was equally due to Larson’s driving talent behind the wheel, and the strategy call by his crew chief Cliff Daniels, who opted to pit his driver late in the race, giving him fresher tires on the final run of the event than the majority of his competitors.

Following the win, Larson’s race-winning No. 5 Valvoline Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 underwent the scrutiny of post-race inspection, where it received a passing grade from NASCAR officials. As a result, NASCAR declared Larson and his team the official winners of the race.

In addition to it being his third win of the 2024 season, this victory marks the 26th of Larson’s 11-year NASCAR Cup Series career. Larson also regained the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series regular season points lead with the win, despite missing the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte a couple of weekends ago.

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings from Sunday’s race are considered official.

Michael McDowell scored a runner-up finish, and he was followed by Chris Buescher, Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, AJ Allmendinger, Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell, and Todd Gilliland inside the top-10.
