On Wednesday, Harrison Burton let the world know that he and his longtime girlfriend Jenna Petty are officially engaged. Burton made the announcement in the form of a post on his X account, which included a photo of the couple sharing a kiss following the Wood Brothers Racing driver popping the question. Burton captioned the photo with, “She said yes!!!! Life is amazing couldn’t ask for a better future wife!”

Following the post from Burton, Kim Burton, Harrison’s mom, Quoted the post on X and said, “Welcome to the family Jenna – Jennifer and Shohn welcome to our fam as well – looking forward to this journey together – I said this afternoon now our family is complete.”

Petty, for those wondering, is not part of the famed Petty racing family. Petty, according to a biography on Motor Racing Outreach’s website, has spent many years traveling and competing on the regional and national levels as a dancer. Currently, she serves as a dancer for Dance Productions #TheRemix, which is a dance school in North Carolina.

Burton, 23, is the son of former NASCAR Cup Series star Jeff Burton, and the nephew of Ward Burton. Harrison Burton is a four-time race winner in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition and moved to full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series ranks with Wood Brothers Racing in 2022.

While Burton hasn’t had the level of success yet that he enjoyed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, he has had flashes of potential in his two full-time seasons. He’s just also had a lot of rough luck, including this year in the season-opening Daytona 500, when he was swept up in a Lap 6 crash.

That incident, which was not of his doing, ended his race.

Burton has a career best finish of third in the NASCAR Cup Series, which came at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in 2022. The driver’s best finish through the opening six races of 2024 is an 11th-place effort at Atlanta Motor Speedway last month.
