Joe Gibbs Racing confirmed the news of Gibbs’ death in a statement posted to Twitter on Sunday.

Before moving over to the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR team operations, Gibbs headed up the Joe Gibbs Racing Motocross team, which competed in AMA motocross and supercross.
