Corey LaJoie and his Sunday Monday Podcast crew dropped a bonus episode of their show on Friday, and over the first 15-minutes of the show, LaJoie continued to stoke the fire on the flaming feud between he and Denny Hamlin.

“I’m just trying to capitalize on these three or four days between Wednesday and Sunday to cook this beef between Denny Hamlin and I,” LaJoie said of the bonus show, which was titled The One with the Cooked Beef.

For those who are behind on where the beef began, the two drivers had a Twitter spat after the NASCAR Cup Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway last Sunday.

Corey LaJoie and Denny Hamlin Get into Heated Twitter Spat Following Atlanta Race

LaJoie, who revealed on the show that he was driving a 10-year old former Roush Racing chassis, went on to pass Hamlin early in Stage 1 of Wednesday night’s Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Hamlin would continue to struggle with an overheating car all night long en route to finishing 24th — three laps off the pace, while LaJoie led five laps and finished 18th.

After spanking Hamlin on the track just days after Hamlin called into question LaJoie’s driving ability on Twitter, LaJoie was ready to pounce.

“The beef was cooked Wednesday night. Ole Alan Dennis James Hamilton III, he’s is awfully quiet this week on Twitter. It’s funny how that works,” LaJoie stated joyfully.

For those who may have believed that the feud between LaJoie and Hamlin was just a friendly ribbing, and not truly two drivers who hate each other, LaJoie pulled back the curtain on his show.

“Yeah. I don’t know why anyone would think it’s not real,” LaJoie said of the beef.

LaJoie continued by saying, “I think people assume that all of the drivers are buddies. I tried to be his buddy when I’d go over there and play basketball, but he’s just a person that you can’t have a relationship — or any kind of conversation with because he’s just buried in his phone.”

Yikes. There’s definitely no love lost there.

Before the show went to a commercial break, LaJoie weighed in how Hamlin — who won the random draw for the pole — would do in Sunday’s event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“He drew the pole, he’s starting on the pole at Homestead and he’s probably going to run good,” LaJoie explained. “Right? Because, A. It’s not the season finale, he’s not racing for a championship so the pressure is not on, so he may be able to win at Homestead, now. He’s driving a good race car. If they don’t slap a 4″x8″ piece of duct tape on the front and blow it up at the end, he may have a chance at winning.”

Corey LaJoie versus Denny Hamlin is the feud that none of us knew we needed when 2020 began, but now that the battle is starting to heat up it’s time to sit back and relax and watch it all play out.
