After one season away, Front Row Motorsports (FRM) is welcoming former primary partner CITGARD back with open arms in 2024, with the brand taking on a primary sponsorship program with Todd Gilliland in 2024, as well as a full-season associate sponsorship deal.

CITGARD, a CITGO Petroleum Corporation brand, is a line of heavy-duty, next-generation engine oils formulated with proprietary additive technology that protects engines from running at higher temperatures and higher fuel injection pressures while meeting tighter wear limits and lower emission requirements.

The brand will partner with Todd Gilliland, serving as a two-race primary sponsor of the No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024, beginning at Bristol Motor Speedway in March. The sponsorship program will conclude with the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff event at Atlanta in September.

CITGARD returns to Front Row Motorsports after a one-season absence, last partnering with the organization during Gilliland’s rookie campaign in the NASCAR Cup Series. The heavy-duty engine oil brand has partnered with multiple of the team’s former drivers, including John Hunter Nemechek, Anthony Alfredo, and David Ragan.

“Reuniting with Front Row Motorsports, Todd Gilliland and the No. 38 team is a great opportunity to showcase the durability of our CITGARD® heavy-duty engine oil,” said Mike Curtis, CITGO General Manager, Lubricants. “Todd and his team continue making waves in the NASCAR Cup Series and CITGARD® is the perfect product to support another successful season.”

Gilliland, who enters his third season of competition in the NASCAR Cup Series, is still on the hunt for his first career victory but comes to start the 2024 season with a Front Row Motorsports team that appears more sharp than ever, after a victory and playoff berth last season with Michael McDowell.

“It’s awesome to have CITGARD® return to Front Row Motorsports this season,” said Gilliland. “We need a reliable, heavy-duty engine lubricant when traveling thousands of miles from track to track and CITGARD is just that —reliable. I want to thank everyone at CITGARD® for returning to our race program.”

Fritz Sports & Entertainment (FSE) will continue to oversee the partnership.

“We are thrilled to see the iconic CITGARD® brand return to the Front Row Motorsports family again,” said FSE CEO Doug Fritz. “This partnership has been beneficial for everyone involved and we look forward to continuing that positive momentum this season with Todd.”

The newly-designed paint scheme for Gilliland will debut in March, when the NASCAR Cup Series returns to Bristol Motor Speedway for its traditional Spring event on the concrete surface.

CITGARD joins a sponsorship lineup for Gilliland that currently includes the likes of Georgia Peanuts, Frontline Enterprises, Ruedebusch Development, and Gener8tor Skills, amongst other partners to be announced at a later date.
