Chase Elliott has a car that certainly looks capable of winning Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Elliott won Stage 1 earlier in the day, and now when a caution came out for a spinning Christopher Bell on the final lap of Stage 2, Elliott captured the Stage 2 win as well.

Elliott has now secured two Playoff points in Sunday’s race to bring his season total to three.

Ryan Blaney, who finished second in the Daytona 500 a week ago, was second in Stage 2. Martin Truex Jr. was third, while William Byron and Joey Logano rounded out the top-five in Stage 2 at Las Vegas.

Kevin Harvick, who has led 74 laps on the day, ended up sixth in the Stage.

Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman were seventh thru ninth.

And Kyle Busch, who started at the rear after illegal body modifications were found on his No. 18 Toyota in inspection, has rebounded to 10th and scored a stage point.

Ross Chastain continues to have a solid showing in relief of the injured Ryan Newman as he was 15th in Stage 2.

Denny Hamlin went a lap down in the closing laps of Stage 2, but will receive the free pass to begin the final Stage of the day. The 2020 Daytona 500 winner is currently 24th in the running order.
