On Wednesday, NASCAR released the post-race penalty report following the NASCAR Cup Series Ambetter 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Austin Cindric’s No. 2 Team Penske team will be without their crew chief Jeremy Bullins, as well as crew members Tire Changer Curtis Thompson and Jack Man Patrick Gray for the next four NASCAR Cup Series events.

Cindric’s No. 2 car lost a wheel following a pit stop on pit road in Sunday’s race.

Recent changes to the NASCAR Cup Series rule book have turned wheels that break loose on pit road a judgement call by NASCAR on whether a penalty is warranted or not. At Atlanta Motor Speedway, the race before New Hampshire, Christopher Bell’s team lost a wheel following a pit stop and were not penalized for it.

No other penalties were issued following the New Hampshire Motor Speedway race weekend.

Cindric and the No. 2 team finished 13th in Sunday’s race at NHMS and the rookie contender is currently in the 16-driver Playoff Grid by virtue of his victory in the season-opening Daytona 500.

  1. This penalty is crazy. NASCAR, changed so much on this new car, at one time. Give these guys a break. This new wheel mounting system is a nut buster. Let teams get their act together this season. Next year, drop the hammer. This year, give them room!
