Atlanta Motor Speedway Revises Policy, Will Allow Cash Refund of Tickets

For those fans who were sour at the news that Atlanta Motor Speedway would only issue a ticket credit for a future race at a Speedway Motorsports, Inc. track instead of a full cash refund after this weekend’s NASCAR race weekend at the 1.5-mile speedway was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the track has officially amended its policy on Friday.

Now, if a fan would like to receive a cash refund for their ticket, that request will be honored by the speedway. Additionally, if the fan would like to use their unused ticket as a credit for a 2020 or 2021 NASCAR race at a SMI race track, they will receive a 120% credit on the price that was paid for their ticket.

This is a huge turnaround in policy, and a breath of fresh air considering the unprecedented circumstances of the race postponement.
