Cup Champ Kyle Busch Competing in the Thanksgiving Classic Super Late Model Event

UPDATE November 30, 2019 11:50 AM ET:

Rain has washed out the remainder of the events for the day at Southern National Motorsports Park, which means the Thanksgiving Classic will not be run tonight.

Kyle Busch, who was fastest in practice on Saturday was disappointed that he won’t get the chance to race the No. 1 machine on Saturday.

2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch will keep the competitive juices flowing this off season.

The 34-year old driver, who has amassed 208 wins in the NASCAR National Series ranks, will look to best youngsters like Carson Kvapil for the trophy in the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park.

Busch will be driving his No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Super Late Model in the event.

The action starts at the North Carolina short track at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday. A slew of racing action including — but not limited to — Bandoleros, Legends and Street Stocks will run before the big show, which will include Busch.

Busch has never competed in the Thanksgiving Classic before as a driver, but he has fielded cars in the event for Raphael Lessard and Christopher Bell before. Busch’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin won this event in 2007.
