Cody Ware, the son of NASCAR Cup Series Rick Ware Racing’s team owner Rick Ware, has announced on Twitter that he is done driving for the organization.

Apparently, several in the Reddit r/NASCAR community have been asking a known RWR employee about Ware’s plans for 2020.

Due to the lack of response by that employee, and rumors starting to swirl, Ware felt it necessary to release the following tweet on Thursday:

It seems as though Ware will be moving on to pursue his inner passion — road racing, according to a response to a Twitter user who asked for further clarification.

Ware, 24, has made 49-career starts in the NASCAR National Series level, 22 of them coming in the NASCAR Cup Series for his father’s race team.

Ware’s best finish in Cup is 28th, which he achieved on two separate occasions (Phoenix in 2018 and Talladega in 2019).

The North Carolinian has not made a start in 2020.
