Momentum has been building for Christopher Bell during his NASCAR Cup Series rookie of the year campaign, as he has had three finishes of 11th-or-better in his last four starts. Wednesday night, Bell took a chance to battle it out on the dirt and took the checkered flag in a micro sprint event at Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, NC.
Bell started second to Carson Kvapil, son of former NASCAR Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil, but wasted little time getting to the lead. By the end of lap 1, Bell had the lead and he would control the 30-lap race in dominating fashion from there.
Kvapil would briefly take the top spot around lap 10, but Bell, driving an all-black No. 21 machine, would step up and cruise to the win. Kvapil’s car would fade down the stretch as he would finish third in the event. Brent Crews would finish runner-up to Bell in the race.
Bell, who sits 25th in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series championship standings, looks to continue his hot streak in Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
