Norman, Oklahoma’s Christopher Bell is officially a polesitter in the NASCAR Cup Series. The 27-year old rocketed to the pole in Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series two-round pole qualifying session, as he turned a lap of 29.561 sec. / 182.673 mph.

Bell was just over a tenth of a second faster than his dirt racing rival, and the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kyle Larson.

Bell’s first-career pole comes in his 75th NASCAR Cup Serie start.

Behind Bell and Larson was the rookie phenom, Austin Cindric in third.

This will mark Cindric’s third straight top-five start of his rookie season. No driver has started the NASCAR Cup Series season with three straight top-five starts since Joey Logano achieved the feat back in 2015.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Chase Briscoe locked down the fourth-fastest lap in Round 2 of qualifying and Chase Elliott will look to rebound from a frustrating Auto Club Speedway result from the fifth starting spot on Sunday.

Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick, Denny Hamlin, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Austin Dillon will round out the top-10 starters in Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
