Chase Elliott shows no signs of slowing down after securing his first NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2020. The 25-year old competed in the Snowball Derby earlier this month, he’s set to contest the Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma as well and now he’ll officially join the entry list for the 2021 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.
Elliott will be a part of the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R team. Joining Elliott on the No. 31 driver roster will be Felipe Nasr, Pipo Derani and Mike Conway.
This will be Elliott’s first attempt at collecting the victory in the iconic twice around the clock event at Daytona International Speedway. For the Dawsonville, Georgia-native, it’s just a continuation of trying to become a well-rounded driver in all forms of motorsport.
“It’s something different and a completely different element of racing that I haven’t really tried before,” said Elliott. “I’m trying to branch out and be more diverse as a driver and this is another part of that experience.”
Five of Elliott’s 11 NASCAR Cup Series victories have come at road courses and he has won the last four road races that have been contested in the series.
