Although the chaotic nature of Superspeedway racing isn’t for everyone, it’s always fun to see fresh faces at the front when the roulette wheel stops. In Sunday’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, we saw four different drivers tally the best finishes of their careers.

Alex Bowman (second), Ryan Preece (third), Daniel Hemric (fifth) and Corey LaJoie (11th) all recorded their career-best finishes on Sunday.

For Hemric and Preece, it was their first career top-five finishes. LaJoie’s 11th-place finish matched his previous best finish which came at the July Daytona race in 2017.

This finish marked Bowman’s fourth-career top-five finish in 127 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts.
