Austin Hill will be attempting to make it into the season-opening NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Daytona International Speedway, running the No. 61 Toyota Supra for Hattori Racing Enterprises according to a team press release.

AISN will provide sponsorship for the entry.

“We’re excited to have another chance to move into the Xfinity Series with AISIN Group and Toyota Tsusho”, Hattori said. “The Supra is a famous brand and model in Japan, and we want to be a part of it here in the U.S. and continue to grow our team. AISIN Group has helped our team for many years and we hope to get them into victory lane again with Austin.”

Hill and HRE attempted two Xfinity Series races last season, but failed to qualify at Daytona in July when they suffered a mechanical failure during qualifying. In their lone NXS start of 2019, Hill and HRE finished ninth at Indianapolis.

Hill, who won four races and finished fifth in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Series standings last season, is excited to be adding more seat time to his schedule.

“It’ll be fun for sure doing double duty”, Hill said. “It was great to get AISIN Group to victory lane last year on the truck side at Michigan and hopefully we can do it again in a Toyota Supra. They’ve been such a big part of HRE for a long time and I’m excited to get a chance to be back in the Xfinity Series with their support.”

According to the team release, Hill will appear in select events throughout the 2020 season in the No. 61. Those additional races will be announced at a later date.
