While Grant Enfinger, Matt Crafton and Ben Rhodes made history on Thursday Night at Richmond Raceway, becoming the first drivers to earn a 1-2-3 finish for any organization in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, ThorSport Racing teammate Johnny Sauter was not having the run that he needed in order to find himself in the 2020 NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs.

In fact, the 42-year-old’s average running position of 29.61 on Thursday Night at Richmond, is the lowest average running position for Sauter, in a race that he was running at the end of, since March 2009 at Martinsville Speedway.

Sauter – whose chance to make the NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs relied entirely on him winning the race at Richmond — was justifiably upset over the radio, as the 2016 NASCAR Truck Series Champion watched his chances at a second series championship slip through his fingers.

This is Sauter’s radio communications from lap 48 of 250, which was recorded and posted to Twitter by Nate Blasdell (@nateismfof):

WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE (AND EXTREME SARCASM)

Sauter’s long night would eventually result in a 27th-place finish, eight laps behind race winner and teammate Grant Enfinger, eliminating the Necedah, Wisconsin-native from a chance to participate in the NASCAR Truck Series’ 10 driver Playoffs in 2020.
