Alex Bowman came into the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season on the hot seat. He had one career win, and was fortunate enough to find last-minute major sponsorship from Chevrolet and their different vendors.
However, just three races into the 2020 campaign, Bowman found victory lane at Auto Club Speedway in dominating fashion. In doing so, he locked his place in the Playoffs.
After a two-month lay-off for the COVID-19 pandemic, it appears Bowman has done enough to secure his ride for another season as he and Hendrick Motorsports announced a one-year contract extension on Saturday via Twitter.
Pumped to lock down the contract extension for 2021! Couldn’t be more excited to return to @TeamHendrick next season and keep the good times rolling in the 88! Thanks for all the support, can’t wait to get to Darlington tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/b1YNHViR5n
