Alex Bowman came into the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season on the hot seat. He had one career win, and was fortunate enough to find last-minute major sponsorship from Chevrolet and their different vendors.

However, just three races into the 2020 campaign, Bowman found victory lane at Auto Club Speedway in dominating fashion. In doing so, he locked his place in the Playoffs.

After a two-month lay-off for the COVID-19 pandemic, it appears Bowman has done enough to secure his ride for another season as he and Hendrick Motorsports announced a one-year contract extension on Saturday via Twitter.

Hendrick Motorsports confirmed the news with a Tweet of their own.

The 27-year old Bowman currently sits fourth in the overall 2020 Cup Series point standings. The NASCAR Cup Series season resumes Sunday at Darlington Raceway.
