AJ Allmendinger and Kaulig Racing have been a potent combination in 2019. Allmendinger has brought the team’s No. 10 car home inside the top-three on four different occasions in 2019. Unfortunately, the car did not pass inspection a couple of those times. However, if the No. 10 car passes post-race tech following Saturday’s Drive for the Cure 250 at the Charlotte Roval, Allmendinger will score his third-career Xfinity Series win.

Allmendinger played the race smart on a day where many of his major competitors made costly mistakes.

In the end, Allmendinger was able to hold off Tyler Reddick by more than two-seconds to score the win. According to Allmendinger, the key to victory were the late race restarts.

“Just trying to change the restarts up enough every time,” Allmendinger said. “You can only do so much. In clean air it was great. In traffic, it was a struggle. But clean air was pretty badass.”

Allmendinger led 20 laps on the day.

Austin Cindric, who was looking to grab his third road course win of the season, was running second in the closing laps, but then something mechanically began to fail on his suspension. Still, Cindric held on to finish third.

Justin Allgaier and Noah Gragson rounded out the top-five finishers on the day.

Canadian driver Alex Labbe came home in sixth, which is a career-best effort for him.

John Hunter Nemechek finished seventh, while Cole Custer rebounded from a couple of incidents in the final Stage to finish eighth.

Chase Briscoe and Ryan Truex were ninth and 10th.

Christopher Bell was in position for at least a top-three position, but when battling Briscoe for second-spot late in the race he went below the curbing in the chicane on the front stretch.

Bell would be penalized for the move and would finish 12th.
