Although we don’t currently know what the documentary series will be called, when it will be released or how many episodes it will be, Netflix is working on a new piece which will follow Bubba Wallace through his 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season — the driver’s first with the new 23XI Racing team, which is co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.

The news was first shared on Twitter by the Netflix @StrongBlackLead account.

This docu-series will join the already released NASCAR sit-com “The Crew” which debuted in February. That show follows the fictional Bobby Spencer Racing team and is led by Kevin James, who stars as the Kevin Gibson, the team’s crew chief.

Wallace, 27, is currently the only African-American driver in the NASCAR Cup Series. After nine starts this season, the Alabama-native sits 20th in the championship standings, and has a season’s best finish of 16th, which he has achieved on three separate occasions this year.
