It’s been a rough morning for one of the newest members of the NASCAR Cup Series garage.

23XI Racing has failed pre-race inspection twice leading up to the 63rd running of the Great American Race. According to Motorsports.com’s Jim Utter, the issue is centered around the rear of the car.

As a result, 23XI Racing’s car chief, Greg Emmer, has been ejected from the Daytona garage as standard penalty procedure.

Wallace’s No. 23 DoorDash Camry passed on the third go-around with NASCAR but will have to drop to the rear of the field thanks to the inspection issues.

Additionally, a handful of drivers will head to the rear for part changes, or backup cars including Brad Keselowski, Kaz Grala, William Byron, Anthony Alfredo, Cole Custer, Ross Chastain, Martin Truex Jr, and Erik Jones.
