While it was expected that Sammy Smith and John Hunter Nemechek would not maintain the lead of the ARCA Menards Series Dawn 150 at Mid-Ohio, as both cars were on wet tires, as the track was drying, the two didn’t help themselves with under 15 laps left in the event.
Smith and Nemechek engaged in a fierce on-track battle for the lead, where they made contact several times. Finally, with 12 laps to go, Nemechek lost patience and seemed to turn Smith from the lead.
Here is the incident between the two drivers:

Just a matter of a few laps later, Nick Sanchez, who was on slick tires, got around Nemechek for the race lead.
