Miles the Monster had no chance when it came to Friday Afternoon’s ARCA Menards Series East event at Dover International Speedway, as Ty Gibbs took home the victory in dominating fashion at the one-mile oval.

It’s the second ARCA Menards Series East victory for Ty Gibbs and his 13th victory in an ARCA-sanctioned event. Gibbs is also set to participate in tomorrow’s Drydene 200 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, along with Kyle Sieg, Jade Buford and Josh Berry.

Josh Berry – who will run triple-duty this weekend at Dover, replacing Justin Haley in the Spire Motorsports No. 77 in the NASCAR Cup Series — finished in the runner-up position in his Cook Racing Technologies Chevrolet. David Gilliland finished third, with Sammy Smith and Max Gutierrez rounding both coming back from incidents to score top-five finishes. Daniel Dye, Connor Mosack, Joey Iest, Jade Buford and Ed Pompa rounded out the top-10.

The race featured a total of seven caution flags, many of which were because of tire failures. Over the course of the 125-lap event, Justin Carroll, Drew Dollar, Rajah Caruth and Sammy Smith all had tire issues. In this afternoon’s practice session, Daniel Dye made significant contact with the outside wall, making it necessary for his Ben Kennedy Racing team to pull out a backup car.

Exiting Dover, Sammy Smith currently holds a 23-point advantage over Mason Diaz and Max Gutierrez, with Joey Iest and Daniel dye rounding out the top-five in points, with only four races left to go in the season.
