North America’s premier open-wheel racing returns this weekend with a serving of NTT IndyCar Series and Indy Lights action from the Barber Motorsports Park. From practice sessions and qualifications leading up to the 12th Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on Sunday.
The stars of IndyCar are back after a two-week hiatus for the fourth race of the season as Team Penske rolls into the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama looking to go 4-for-4 with victories. Josef Newgarden has won the last two races on the year and if he wins three in a row, he’ll be gifted $1 million from the “PeopleReady Force for Good” Challenge as part of winning on all three different track disciples the series has to offer: oval, road and street circuits.
Half of the earnings will be given to a charity of Newgarden’s choice.
It is the second race of the season for Indy Lights, making their return since February at St. Petersburg. Andretti Autosport’s Matthew Brabham won in his first start since 2015, the second victory of his career.
