You know, obviously the story of the race following Friday’s ARCA Menards Series General Tire 150 at Phoenix Raceway was Ty Gibbs recording his ninth win in his young career, but just behind Gibbs were a couple of other young drivers with NASCAR ties who snagged career-best finishes.

Moffitt, the 20-year old grandson of the legendary Richard Petty, came home an impressive third in the race in his No. 46 David Gilliland Racing machine.

The previous career-best finish for Moffitt in 29 previous ARCA Menards Series starts was a fourth-place effort at Memphis a season ago. Moffitt also led five laps in the race, which ties his mark for most laps led in a race during his ARCA career.

Obviously, we’re early in the season, but it looks like Moffitt, who sits fifth in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings, could be taking a step forward in his career this season.

For Sieg, the 19-year old brother of NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor Ryan Sieg, his fourth-place finish was his second top-five finish in as many races to start the 2021 ARCA Menards Series campaign.

Overall, Sieg now has three top-10 finishes in his five starts in ARCA to date. After his career-best run on Friday, Sieg sits fourth in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings. Sieg drives for his family owned RSS Racing team and has former NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Jeff Green on the pit box as his crew chief.

While Gibbs continues to rightfully steal the headlines, these two youngsters are among those who could rise up and surprise by scoring a win during the 2021 ARCA Menards Series season.
