As the weekend of Saturday night racing lay ahead for the ARCA Menards Series West at Irwindale, Mother Nature looks to have other plans in store, as officials have announced the postponement of the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts.

“With an unfavorable weather forecast for the weekend in the Southern California area, officials from ARCA and Irwindale Speedway have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts,” series officials said in a press release.

The new scheduled date for the race is now July 6th, 2024. With that comes a special doubleheader for the ARCA Menards Series West at Irwindale, as the series will also run on July 4th at the half-mile oval.

“A complete schedule for the new July 6 race event will be released at a later date,” officials added.

This isn’t the first time the series has been bothered by weather in 2024. The ARCA Menards Series West season opener and double header with the ARCA Menards Series earlier this year was cut short due to rain. William Sawalich was able to take home the win on lap 115 of the scheduled 150.

The delayed event also prolongs the return of former ARCA Menards Series Champion Mason Mitchell, who was set to hit the track in the No. 23 SIGMA Performance Services, GMS Fabrication Chevy. As of now, it’s unknown if they will run the race at Irwindale. However, he and the team will be at Iowa later in the year.

With the change, the ARCA Menards Series West will now continue their 2024 season at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway for the MMI Oil Workers 150 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame. You can catch that race live on FloRacing at 10:15 PM ET/8:15 PM PT.
