It has been announced that Nolan Wilson is returning to drive the No. 69 Ford Mustang for Kimmel Racing in the ARCA Menards Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26.

Will Kimmel, the nephew of 10-time ARCA Menards Series champion Frank Kimmel, will serve as the crew chief for the No. 69 pit box in Wilson’s efforts.

The 51-year-old drove the same No. 69, making his ARCA Menards Series debut in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway on February 15, and was unfortunately knocked out of the race after tangling in the massive Lap 5 melee, collecting 15 cars. Wilson would retire from the race in 28th position.

The Sanford, Florida native has never driven at Talladega, but is looking forward to improving on his misfortunes from Daytona by capitalizing in his second career start.

“I’m ready to get back into the car today if I could,” said an excited Wilson on getting an opportunity to drive for Kimmel Racing in a press release. “The group over at Kimmel Racing are a bunch of pros, very grateful to be back behind the wheel. I’ll do everything in my power to get that No. 69 (Ford) Mustang to the front. Can’t wait for my second race with Bill, Will, and the rest of the Kimmel team.”

Kimmel Racing team owner spoke on behalf of his excitement for Wilson to climb back aboard their No. 69 Ford Mustang entry as well on how the team was still stinging after the calamity that took place at Daytona which unfortunately ended their day way before the halfway mark.

“After our early exit from the Daytona race, we are excited to get Nolan back in the race car. We really thought we were in pretty good shape, only to get collected in someone else’s doing. Looking forward to Talladega!”

The General Tire 200 at Daytona International Speedway will air live on FS1 at 12:30 pm EST on Saturday, April 26.
