The 36-year-old was added to the test’s entry list on Friday morning, after receiving a phone call asking if he could make it to Daytona International Speedway to test a car on Saturday, for Andy Hillenburg and Fast Track Racing.

In recent weeks, Muniz’s return to racing in the ARCA Menards Series has been heavily-rumored, after a YouTube channel and video dedicated to his racing endeavors was made public. The video has since been deleted.

Following Saturday’s test session, Muniz posted a long statement to his Instagram account, detailing that the actor originally had plans to compete in more than 50 events throughout the 2022 season, including races in the ARCA Menards Series.

However, the Wood-Ridge, New Jersey-native states that his plans for the 2022 season have been altered, due to his main primary sponsor dropping out of the deal because of ‘pandemic-related reasons’.

The statement ends with: “I have no idea what I may or may not be racing this season, but just know I’m more dedicated than ever to make this happen.”

Muniz – driving the No. 01 entry for Fast Track Racing — was able to post the 31st fastest lap time in the four-hour session, posting a best lap time of 51.796 seconds. Dave Mader III set the fastest lap time of the session, 1.922 seconds quicker than Muniz.

As of publishing time, Muniz has yet to announce his plans for the upcoming season, but with the season set to get underway in less than one month, those plans would have to be announced soon.

Ron Vandermeir Jr – Muniz’s teammate in the two-day test — captured video of him traveling around the Daytona International Speedway during the test, which he posted to Twitter on Saturday Afternoon.
