On Monday morning, NASCAR and Rev Racing announced the 20th anniversary Drive for Diversity Driver Development Class. The 2024 class was selected following participation in the Advance Auto Parts Drive for Diversity Combine, which was held in Concord, North Carolina, and Florence, South Carolina.
“Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Development Program and we’re celebrating this milestone by welcoming a very talented group of drivers,” said Brandon Thompson, NASCAR’s Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. “We’re confident that next year’s group of drivers will continue elevating the depth of our talent pool and we’re thrilled to play a role in their development.”
Rev Racing co-owner Max Siegel is excited by the crop of talent in the Drive for Diversity program in 2024.
“We are extremely energized by the talent we saw this past November at the Combine,” said Siegel. “From returning drivers to new participants to our program, we look forward to the season ahead and the development of this pipeline of NASCAR’s future stars. We’re proud of our accomplishments since the program’s inception and our expansion into the national series in 2023. We are poised for continued success with this next driver class, as we remain committed to being a championship-contending team and one of the premier development programs in NASCAR.”
Headlining the 2024 Drive for Diversity Class are returning members Andrés Pérez de Lara and Lavar Scott.
Pérez de Lara will reprise his role with Rev Racing in the ARCA Menards Series ranks, while Scott will move from the ARCA Menards Series East to the ARCA Menards Series national tour.
Pérez de Lara racked up 10 top-five finishes, and 15 top-10s on his path to a runner-up finish in the 2023 ARCA Menards Series championship standings.
Scott finished third in the eight-race 2023 ARCA Menards Series East season standings with five top-five finishes and seven top-10s. Scott made six starts in ARCA Menards Series competition and recorded an average finish of 7.0 in those six starts.
Joining Pérez de Lara and Scott are a talented group of young racers looking to make their mark in 2024.
Nathan Lyons, who finished third in the 2023 Cookout Summer Shootout point standings in the Rev Racing Legend car, will return to the team’s INEX Legend Car Series roster for 2024.
Eloy Sebastián López Falcón will slide into the Rev Racing NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. The 18-year-old racer competed in the U.S. Legends Car ranks as part of the 2023 Drive for Diversity class. The driver also scored three wins in the NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series in 2023.
Joining Sebastián López Falcón in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series for Rev Racing will be Lanie Buice, TJ DeCaire, and Regina Sirvent.
Buice is a 91-time race winner in the karting ranks, and she racked up 23-consecutive wins in her final season running karts (2020). Buice notched 12 top-five finishes and 18 top-10s in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series last year in the late model division.
DeCaire was a three-time race winner in 2023, and competed in Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, and the Truck Weekly Touring Series. DeCaire will look to continue racking up trophies in 2024.
Sirvent, 20, recorded two top-five finishes in the NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series. The young racer was the first female driver to win in the Trucks Mexico Series, and she came home third in the 2020 Trucks Mexico championship standings.
Cassidy Keitt and LaQuan McCoy Jr. will also join the INEX Legend Car Series program for Rev Racing in 2024.
Keitt snagged a pair of top-five finishes and five top-10s in the U.S. Legend Cars division at the Cookout Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
McCoy scored back-to-back wins in the 2023 Cookout Summer Shootout, and was the 2023 Charlotte Motor Speedway Winter Heat champion.
The drivers in the 2024 Drive for Diversity Driver Development Class join a prestigious list on Drive for Diversity alumni drivers, which includes NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson, NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Daniel Suárez, NASCAR Cup Series race winner Bubba Wallace, and 2022 ARCA Menards Series champion Nick Sanchez.
