AJ Allmendinger to Run No. 16 Kaulig Entry in 2024 Daytona 500

While AJ Allmendinger will move back to full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series racing for Kaulig Racing in 2024, the veteran racer will continue battling for NASCAR Cup Series wins for the organization in the upcoming season.

On Wednesday morning, Kaulig Racing announced in a post on X, formerly Twitter, Allmendinger as the driver of the organization’s No. 16 entry for the NASCAR Cup Series season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

No additional details, including sponsorship, were made available for Allmendinger’s Daytona 500 start.

The 2024 Daytona 500 will mark Allmendinger’s 11th career start in The Great American Race. Allmendinger, 42, has a career-best finish of third in the Daytona 500, which he has achieved twice (2009, and 2017).

Allmendinger is a three-time race winner in the NASCAR Cup Series, and has made 430 starts to date.

On December 17th, Kaulig Racing announced that Allmendinger would return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time in 2024 after a season full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2023.
