Kaulig Racing Solidifies 2024 Xfinity Series Crew Chief Lineup

Kaulig Racing has finalized its driver-crew chief pairings for the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign, the team officially announced on Tuesday. The roster is set to include one brand-new face to the organization and a pair of returning veterans.

Alex Yontz and Bruce Schlicker, who served as crew chiefs for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series last season, will return to the organization in the same capacity for the 2024 season.

Schlicker will be partnered with Shane van Gisbergen, who will pilot the No. 97 Chevrolet Camaro full-time in 2024. Meanwhile, Yontz will serve as crew chief for returning Xfinity Series veteran AJ Allmendinger, who will drive the No. 16 Chevrolet.

Yontz, who also had a short stint as a NASCAR Truck Series driver in the mid-2000s, is an eight-time winning crew chief in the second-tier series, including three this past season when working on the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro.

Schlicker joined Kaulig Racing in 2020, where he’s worked with drivers like Ross Chastain, Jeb Burton, AJ Allmendinger, and more recently, Chandler Smith. The upcoming season will mark a new challenge, as he looks to assist Shane van Gisbergen in his NASCAR transition.

New to the Kaulig Racing brigade in 2024 is Kevin Walter, who last season, worked as an engineer on the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, fielded by JR Motorsports.

However, this opportunity with Kaulig Racing will mark the first full-time crew chief gig in the second-tier series for Walter, who served a five-race stint as crew chief for Leavine Family Racing in 2015.

Jason Trinchere, who served as a crew chief for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2023, has yet to be announced to any other role – either inside or outside of Kaulig Racing – at this time.
