Ally, Hendrick Motorsports Unveil Alex Bowman’s 2024 Sean Bull-Designed Paint Scheme

Ally Financial has left its mark on NASCAR with incredible and groundbreaking paint schemes since the brand entered the sport in 2019 as the primary sponsor of Jimmie Johnson’s car. The vivid paint schemes have continued to churn out since Ally moved to Alex Bowman following Johnson’s retirement from full-time racing.

On Friday, Ally and Hendrick Motorsports revealed the 2024 paint scheme for the No. 48 team — and it is incredible.

The scheme, which was designed by Sean Bull, features all of the Ally brand colors (shades of purple, pink, and teal), in a unique almost camouflage-style design.

What makes the scheme more unique is that from afar, the scheme almost looks like a solid purple paint scheme. As you walk closer to it, the intricate details are revealed.

The scheme truly pops.

Bull is an internationally recognized designer, and this is not his first foray into the motorsports world. Bull is the graphic designer for the Alpine team in Formula 1.

Bowman will look for a bounce-back season in 2024 after he missed the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs for the first time since moving to Hendrick Motorsports full-time in 2018.

The 2023 season started solidly for Bowman and crew chief Blake Harris, as the pairing recorded six top-10 finishes in the opening seven races of the season.

However, a back injury sustained in a dirt racing event sidelined Bowman for three races. Bowman was unable to get to 100% health before returning as he was attempting to keep his Playoff hopes alive.

Bowman was able to finish 20th in the year-end NASCAR Cup Series championship standings, but he failed to make it into the Playoffs. The driver, who has recorded seven wins over 289 career starts, will look to come out firing on all cylinders in 2024.
