Video: Corey Heim Exacts Revenge on Carson Hocevar; Sets Up Overtime at Phoenix

Carson Hocevar won’t be hoisting a championship trophy at the end of Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Phoenix Raceway… Corey Heim made sure of that.

Perhaps it was justified, perhaps it wasn’t, but regardless of anybody’s thoughts on the matter, the move has taken Hocevar out of the running, and has likely destroyed any chance that Heim had at scoring his first championship.

The incident happened with three laps to go in Friday’s race, setting up NASCAR Overtime, and happened when Heim drove the No. 42, driven by Carson Hocevar, directly up the racetrack, and slamming him into the outside wall.

While Hocevar and Heim both sustained major damage from the accident, Taylor Gray, Heim’s teammate at TRICON Garage, made slight contact with Jake Garcia and spun around on the backstretch.

Hocevar will be credited with a 29th-place finish, and will finish fourth-place in final points, while Corey Heim’s wounded truck will likely end up third in points, barring a major disaster – now the title will be between Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes.
